Lisa Hall is a dynamic speaker, award-winning documentary filmmaker, and lifelong marketing professional who brings heart, insight, and authenticity to every stage she steps on. A graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and Moody Bible Institute, Lisa combines sharp professional acumen with a deep commitment to community and healing.
She is best known as the creator and executive producer of The Addict’s Wake, a powerful documentary film that shines a light on the opioid crisis, the decline of mental health, and the human stories behind it. The film premiered at the Heartland International Film Festival and has since won Best Documentary honors at multiple festivals nationwide. In late 2022, an abridged version aired on PBS, reaching 92% of U.S. stations and sparking conversations in living rooms, classrooms, and boardrooms across the country.
Lisa’s presentations resonate deeply with audiences—from educators and healthcare professionals to faith communities and policymakers. Her message centers on eliminating the silo mentality, breaking stigma, building empathy, and creating solutions. She also created educational and training tools tied to the original film, including The Addict’s Wake Educational Film (2024) for students and classrooms and The Addict’s Wake Law Enforcement Film (2025) for first responders, courts, and corrections.
Beyond filmmaking, Lisa is actively involved in local initiatives supporting incarcerated women and people in recovery from substance use disorder. She recently authored Avie’s Hope, a children’s book offering a message of compassion and resilience for those with family members in active addiction.
Honored with the Distinguished Hoosier Award by Governor Eric J. Holcomb and named Recovery Ally of the Year by Recover Out Loud, Lisa brings both credibility and heart to events that aim to inspire, inform, and make a lasting impact.
