Brown County Christkindl Market kicks off holiday season

Cody Adams, reporting for WISH-TV:

The Brown County Christkindl Market returns for its fifth year, offering a festive experience in Coach Light Square on the first weekend of December.

The market features two full stages of live performances, showcasing some of the best talent in the region, along with unique artisans offering one-of-a-kind gifts, culinary treats, and libations.

“The vision for me is I love community,” said Lisa Hall, spokesperson for the Brown County Chris Kendall Market. “And when you are tourism dependent, you have to invent reasons for why people return.”

Amanda Webb, a singer and songwriter, is one of the performers and organizes the entertainment for the event. “We’re going to have another round coming in from IU, we’ve got Polka Motion, they’re from Indianapolis, they’re going to be down there,” she said.

Lisa Hall emphasized the importance of creating events that attract tourists beyond the busy leaf season, noting Brown County’s picturesque setting reminiscent of a Hallmark movie.

Amanda Webb highlighted the diverse lineup of performers, including Bryce Mullins, the Woodridge Children’s Choir, and the Brown County Tubas, adding excitement to the event.
